Fataga Santa Lucía - Road bike excursion on Gran Canaria

Join the switchback heaven challenge!

We start this road tour at our Monte Feliz bike shop. We head west, passing through the town of San Agustín, then turning north towards the charming San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The day's first challenge is the Degollada de las Yeguas lookout point, standing tall at 474 meters, which we waste no time conquering. From there, we descend into the valley, with the wind rushing through our hair and the anticipation of the road ahead building.

Our next ascent takes us through the picturesque village of Fataga, culminating at the highest point of our adventure: Tunte, a staggering 900 meters above sea level.

Continuing our Canarian cycling adventure, we roll through the quaint streets of San Bartolomé de Tirajana before turning eastward toward the village of Santa Lucía. Here, we take a well-deserved break to replenish our energy.

Our journey then takes a thrilling turn southeast, descending the heart-pounding Los Cuchillos road, renowned for its exciting twists and turns that offer breathtaking views of the ravines and valleys below. Finally, as we reach El Doctoral, we turn westward, tracing the coastline to Monte Feliz. Most days, the wind is at our backs, gently pushing us home.
